First Ever Blog Post!

Welcome to the musings of a busy mind! Seriously, it's like an Internet browser with about 30 tabs open... which, incidentally is exactly how my actual Internet browser looks.

Before I delve too deeply into my psyche I really should introduce myself, so you can get to know the girl (bear with me as I hang on to the sliver of youth I insist that I still have) behind the camera and the apron. My name is Cherie and these are a few of my favourite things... (cue The Sound of Music soundtrack playing in my head distracting me momentarily - *opens an additional browser tab to play said soundtrack because I can't remember the actual lyrics...)

I'll chat a bit more about each of those later - I need content for a while, right? For now though, here's a snapshot (see what I did there?) of me at this point in time...

I'm a Kindergarten teaching, equine event photographing, floral designing, clay target shooting, Cert IV studying single Mum of a twelve year old boy and a four year old Jack Russell who identifies as a Doberman as long as he's on his side of the fence.

This photo encompasses quite a lot of that. It was taken by my son in the backyard, in which the dog lives. We currently reside in Emerald in Central Queensland, but I'm originally from Normanton in the Gulf of Carpentaria.

At the moment we're winding up our Kindy year, which means Christmas is just around the corner and our break is about to start. I'm planning on using that time to catch up on a few creative projects that I have on the go, spend time at home in Normanton with family, finish and submit the final assessment tasks to complete my Cert IV in Floristry, work on my Cert IV in Training and Assessment, and get ready for the new year at Kindy in a brand new and exciting space. Remember what I said about the browser tabs? I seem to be constantly busy. It's only the type of thing I'm busy with that changes.

I said all that so I could say this... over the next few months I'll expand on each of these things a bit more. I have wanted to write a blog for a while, but was concerned that I would run out of engaging topics and things to say. Who am I kidding? I could talk underwater with a mouthful of marbles, especially about the many and varied things that I'm passionate about. So here I am, dipping my toe into the blogosphere. Let me know which topics interest you the most.

Right now I'm off to work... on a Saturday, to prepare engaging spaces for Monday and Tuesday's visit days when next year's Kindy kids have the opportunity to come and explore. More on that later.
