No extra floristry challenge for me this week. I did a day in the shop last Monday, so I'll count that. I had a busy weekend though.
One eye on the Emergency Dashboards for three councils
and the other on the weather radar for a day and a half and I set off
for Townsville. There was a bit of water over the road between the
Belyando Crossing and Charters Towers, but I put my Big Girl Pants on
and followed five other vehicles through.

When I got to Townsville I spent Saturday at the Gun
Club. The Northern Zone QCTA received funding through the Active Women
and Girls Program for Women's coaching. I had the opportunity to assist
with coaching an enthusiastic group of women and race around with my
camera.
I was able to do the last couple of shoots that I needed
for Module 10 at the Gun Club as well, so I can make a start on the
penultimate module of my Diploma. Let's see if I can get through it in a
month - fingers crossed.
Here's my "Local Hero" shot of Mum.
Another thing I did in Townsville was go and have a look
at Townsville Flower Market. Next week I'll be teaching my very
first solo floristry block in the back room of that shop. I'm nervous
and excited in equal measure. It's my favourite unit from the course
(Sympathy Design) and we have a nice little group for my first block. I
just need to finish my lesson plans...
The first event on my event calendar for the year is also fast
approaching. Capella Indoor Cutting Show is one of my favourites, and
it will top off a fantastic week. A couple of days in Brisbane for Cody
to fight at the Novice Titles, then back to Townsville for the floristry
block, and Capella Cutting on the way home. Luckily I have the school
holidays off work!
It's been quite a party, ain't it.
